How to approach the guy at the coffee shop?

Friday, August 13th, 2010

So Im usually at my local coffee/tea shop 6 days a week at around the same time to enjoy a cup of tea and to work on papers and there is always this really cute guy there studying as well. I have been meaning to approach him, but not quite sure.
Any advice??
He is always there alone so I don’t know if approaching him would bother him.

Just ask him what he’s reading or ask if this seat is taken. If he talks to you, you’ve got your chance.

What do you think about my coffee shop idea?

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

I am a 21 year old female and my dream is to open a local fair trade coffee shop where people can come and enjoy a good cup of coffee in a calm comfortable environment? Do you think that is a undo-able dream? Do you have any suggestions on things I should do in my shop or not do? Let me know you thoughts and opinions about it. Thanks!
-Kiwi

Hey if that is your dream then run with it. You have to enjoy what you do and do it well.

Location is going to be extremely important for you. If you will be in an area where you will receive a nice volume of customer traffic then you have a chance to do quite well.

I promote eco friendly home products etc and I was speaking with someone with a coffee shop and he stated that at times it can be a bit of a struggle!

So incorporating something else in with the coffee shop idea may be necessary. Arts, Crafts, jewellry – I don’t know – but again it will depend on location.

The person I spoke to is considering doing what I do to add to his income stream. He already has a small customer base coming in for coffee, cake etc.

If you can’t increase the quantity of customers too much – then you need to increase the customers spend amounts while they are there!

Keep looking out for ideas – but make it something you are into or passionate about.
It is really important – I love our planet and I care about people and so that works brilliantly with my role. I enjoy working – I enjoy helping.

If you do not work with something that hits your heart – it will simply become a job and the daily grind will get to you in the end.

Good luck with it. Don’t be put off – just work to combine a few ideas to make it happen and you will have a greater chance of success and don’t invest too heavily. What you learn will be a major gain even if it doesn’t work out.

Can i start a coffee shop which is named central perk and has exact look n feel as shown in FRIENDS?

Monday, August 9th, 2010

This is just to understand, whether WB, creators of the series Friends, own any trademark rights of using the name Central Perk for a coffee shop and whether it would be illegal to start anythin like such?

Take their idea but don’t illegally copy it down to a T. Use their ‘comfortable and warming’ atomsphere, lots of couches, etc. It’d be quiet easy to get the same sort of feel without duplicating the set from the show. You could name it the same, they can’t sue you for that but a copy yes.

Guide to Buying Living Room Furniture

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

After you are done with the living room in fresh wallpaper and paint, and are also through with the flooring and upholstery, how do you go ahead with buying the right furniture that goes with the color and theme? Is this a common picture you often encounter? First of all, relax. You will most certainly come across a range of contemporary living room furniture that compliments your overall décor and styling. But before you go out and shop for modern sofas, recliners and trendy entertainment units as everything else, here are a couple of things you might want to consider.

The Living room area

Ideally, the size of your furniture must be in proportion to the size of your living room. You don’t want petite furniture for bigger spaces or something too bulky that occupies all the space. Work out on your personal taste and fit it with practical details like the room size and styling.

For smaller living rooms, opt for modular and functional furniture and keep in mind that heavy upholstery can make it look all crammed. You also get furniture that can function as day sofa and be transformed into a full-fledged bed. Do not forget to fashion the space in a manner that allows open room to move comfortably. For instance, a hi-tech spread out sofa would suit larger room settings. So, measure the area and try to buy furniture with size and details in mind.

Also pay attention to where exactly in the living room you want the furniture to be placed. Once you have decided, measure the area and then keep the dimensions in mind (or jot it down on paper) and keep it in mind while your selection. It is also important to take into account the space required between the wall and the furniture while measuring.

Styling and Upholstery

Depending on your taste and the furniture style, co-ordinate rest of the décor in line with the furniture. Cushions, upholstery and curtains can be complimented in neutral, complimenting and contrasting tones. If you already have cushions and curtains that do well with the theme, use them and also add something new that provides a resting space to the whole theme. A contrasting bowl, vase and even antique items in neutral shades do well to add a personal touch to your living space.

Sofas

The mantra is to explore. There are a broad variety of sofa styles to boggle the mind, but once you discover your particular style, it will be easier. Your choice of sofa seating will depend not on your taste, but also on the number of people in the family and the available amount of space (the measurements).A long sofa accompanied by one or two armchairs maybe all you need, and you will find many futon beds and modular sofa models that fill in the space with grace. The material should be chosen as per convenience and the time you can spend in cleaning.

Recliners and Rocking Chairs

Reclining armchair or sofas make great luxurious furniture. With a built-in footrest, recliners provide superior comfort. A rocking chair can be added for a personal touch of class to any living room. While recliners are mostly done in lush leather, you could add a contrasting wicker or wood rocker chair to add a more or unconventional feel.

Entertainment units/TV unit

Modern day entertainment units combine features and functionality to offer great looking furniture units to stack, store and display. Low-slung units as also regular units both look great. Depending upon the space, you can have a unit that compliments the theme and fits the space.

Coffee Tables

The coffee table makes a focal point for family and friends. A good coffee table should also offer convenient storage space to help reduce living room clutter. There are different styles and shapes that come with a choice of color and finish. You can also add a contrasting coffee table to create a great corner for relaxation and play time.

Accent Pieces

In contrast to other rooms in a home, living room helps with the first impressions. You can fashion up a theme and add art pieces that reflect a part of your personality. There are great standing mirrors that allow you to add a different dimension to a living area. Then there are variety of accent tables, stylish armoires, side tables that can add to the theme with style.

How much marijuana can a coffee shop owner have?

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

In the Netherlands, coffee shop’s can sell marijuana- I know that. I want to know how much the shop can have total be for sales.

A coffeeshop can hold up to 500g max on the premisis without being prosectuted, and you can see confirmation of this on this document produced by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs http://www.minbuza.nl/dsresource?objectid=buzabeheer:58788&type=pdf

There are coffeeshops who do hold more than this because they have such a large turnover, but equally there are coffeeshops who have had their licences withdrawn because of this as well!

Where to Find Single and Attractive Women in Your Area

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Recently I received an email from one of my list subscribers. It went something like this:

“Hey Scott-

My friends and I are getting sick of meeting chicks at local bars. Since they’re always being hit on by other dudes, they think they’re hot sh*t and won’t give us the time of day! Can you suggest other places to meet women? I am sick of chasing after the same stuck-up girls. Thanx man!

Frankie V. (Brooklyn, NY)

What I found interesting about this particular email is I see one like this very week. Right now, there are hundreds of thousands of guys who are sick and tired of trying to meet women at bars and clubs.

And I bet you are too!

Meeting women in a noisy, crowded bar can be a challenging prospect. Not only do you have to compete with a lot of guys, but you also have to overcome the nature of women who distrust men that approach them in this setting.

In short, trying to approach women in bars can really suck sometimes!

So I decided to do something to help you out.

I have sat down and jotted down two of pthe laces which are great for meeting interesting women. Let’s get started…

Supermarkets

Believe it or not, supermarkets are incredible places to meet women. Since they make up a large percentage of shoppers, you’ll be amazed at the opportunities you can find there. In addition, since everyone has to shop for food, you’ll find all types of women here.

What you should do is wait till around 5:30 in the evening to go a supermarket. Since this is typically the time that people get off work, you’ll have no problem finding women to approach. All you have to do ask their opinion about a particular item and you’ll have an instant conversation. (Just make sure you don’t ask her about something like adult diapers).

Coffee Shops

It seems like coffee shops have become a “feeding ground” for single and attractive women. For instance, I recently took the train into New York City and went to grab a cup of tea from Starbucks (Yeah I know I am a wuss, but I hate coffee). When I went inside, there dozens of tables filled with hot women.

Now this was a Tuesday afternoon in middle of November and there were almost a hundred attractive women. Think of the possibilities of that one!

In my opinion, coffee shops are a huge untapped area which most guys don’t take advantage of. All you have to do is grab a cup of coffee (or tea) and start talking to a girl who catches your eye.

Both coffee shops and supermarkets offer low pressure situations where you can meet interesting women. Since you’re not overwhelmed with loud music and crowds of guys, these locations offer a way to confidently approach women without fear of rejection!
